ABOUT US: We are two retired guys that met on a forum board geared to talking about hunting dogs. We found that we have a mutal interest in squirrel hunting especially with feist dogs and that we were both located in South Carolina. We have conbined our efforts to produce the type of feist that will work for us in the woods and in competition. My passion is in breeding and Davids is the hands on guy that actually hunts what we produce. Cowasee Feist are the resuts of our partnership.
At Cowasee Basin Kennels we take great pride in the dogs we are breeding for the future.
We strongly
believe that the females are the backbone of any breeding program and have taken great care and time selecting our breeding
females. All of our breeding females will be carefully chosen for their conformation, strong working abilities, excellent
temperaments, and proven bloodlines. We have chosen a Cauley bred Feist to add to our kennel. Her pedigree is at the bottom of this page.
She is registered with NKC as Cowasee Basin Sandy and she is a welcome addition to our kennel.
The two stud dogs we have are proven in the breeding pen that they can throw squirrel dogs,
John Ellis' Bo Bo's sire is Pedro
and Tripp's Hard Rock Kandee Kandee's sire is JD and her Grandsire is Pedro.
The focus of our
breeding will always be a working feist.
Having said that, our feist
not only are excellent tree dogs, they make wonderful
pets.
We will
be as honest as we can about any dog that we sell as to its
ability, health, handling, etc. and will gladly show them in
the woods.
Our breeding kennel is located in Kershaw County, South Carolina
About 5 miles northwest of Elgin, SC and About 20 miles North of Columbia, SC
Our proving grounds are in Summerton, SC at Davids Kennel.
